Thanks to the unique gap waveguide technology there is no need of soldering, screws or glue between antenna layers and assembly is made with simple riveting. This enables the use of low temperature plastic antenna layers with copper metallization instead of expensive silver coating.
This features the thinnest possible antenna due to minimum number of injection-molded layers in combination with sheet metal. By adding different layers to the antenna like an absorber, we enable an easier integration in the radarsensor. Adding a thermal spreader we support the cooling of the ICs. Gapwaves radar antennas supports board launchers as well as Launcher-in-package (LiP), with ready solutions for the major chipset manufacturers.
