Sustainability strategy

Gapwaves’ sustainability strategy is integrated into our company’s business model, work practices, and values, aiming to make a positive contribution to society, maintaining our attractiveness as an employer, appeal to investors, and create competitive products and services.

We are proactively working towards our short- and long-term targets, continually assessing our progress, and enhancing our efforts. We have identified four Sustainable Development Goals* where we have the greatest opportunity to contribute:

Goal 5: Gender equality
Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth
Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities
Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production

*SDG (Sustainability Development Goals) are the 17 sustainability goals set by the United Nations.

Positive contribution to society and environment

By implementing technologies that enables advanced driving assistance and autonomous vehicles, Gapwaves contributes to reducing resource consumption in society. Advancements within the antenna technology such as the usage of smaller antennas produced in more recyclable materials, will improve our environmental impact further. Our technology can also increase the safety for drivers, passengers and the entire traffic environment.

Gapwaves’ three strategic focus areas within sustainability

A comprehensive analysis of Gapwaves’ impact on our stakeholders, considering both negative and positive, actual and possible impacts, forms the basis of our sustainability strategy. We have identified three key areas where our impact is substantial and where we are focusing our work:

i. Circularity and carbon neutrality are of great importance within the automotive industry to address the climate crisis. High expectations from customers and stringent legislation have pushed for innovative solutions within the industry and it is of importance that Gapwaves’ can deliver and influence within this field.

ii. Building knowledge faster is one of the most valuable assets and a key driving force for success in a competitive market. It promotes innovation and contributes to development of new products and processes. This competitive advantage enables faster market implementation of Gapwaves’ technology, with positive impact on environment and society.

iii. Transparency for trust is key in all our work. We conduct our operations with transparency – internally and externally. To gain the trust from all our stakeholders, we need to be transparent with the impact Gapwaves’ operations have, negative as well as positive.
